What a fun weekend in the studio - now to get ready to teach this week.  These little birds and spas will be ready to go home with someone Mother's Day weekend....I'm going to have a sale from the studio on Saturday before Mother's Day (May 11th).  Mark your calendars!

This month I did more RAKU firing at Seattle Pottery.  So exciting.  When you unload your pieces from the buckets after they have cooled down, it is just like opening up a present! So fun and what wonderful surprises the process brings.

Relief! The sweet potato birds now have wings.  I think I am going to make a new group with a slightly different shape, but I am pretty happy with the way they are chirping.  I plan to do some RAKU firing at Seattle Pottery this weekend.  Finished some pods for it last night...now impatiently drying them to bisque fire tomorrow in time to do the firing on Saturday.

 
This morning I was a little giddy about how great it was to be glazing in my pj's - before my morning coffee!  It's pretty amazing how this glopped on combination of chemicals turns into such beauty.  Can't wait to share the finished photos!

and last but not least...what I tell my students NOT to do...leave all of their brushes soaking in the water.  My teacher voice made me turn around and wash them before I turned off the studio light.

Spring Break! This means hours of fun in the studio, and the new inspiration is birds!  Spring seems like the perfect time to celebrate these little chirping creatures.  I am listening to them as I make these birdhouses and form the birds.
